Get to Know Newark Cafes Collage 600x300

Once you are a law student, it is easy to make the library your second home. However, as much as Seton Hall Law students love ramping the building and visiting Café Deni for a quick caffeine fix, sometimes a new study space is much needed.

Luckily, Seton Hall Law is surrounded by various coffee shops that not only provide delicious drinks and snacks, but also a new study environment to help clear the mind. Here is where to grab your next cup of coffee in Newark!

1. PJ's Coffee of New Orleans

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is only a quick walk away from the school. This coffee chain provides plenty of space for all your studying needs. The shop even has a printer for use in case there is a missing page from your outline. While they have all the classic favorites you can find at any coffee shop, be sure to check out their seasonal drink menu if you are looking for a small change in your routine. Don’t forget as well to check out their desserts (their pies are a personal favorite).

Address: 2 Center St, Newark, NJ 07102

2. Black swan espresso

Black Swan Espresso is a black-owned specialty coffee and tea shop in Downtown Newark. If you are a coffee expert, you will find a variety of roasts to enjoy featuring coffee beans from around the world. It is about a 12 minute walk from the school, allowing you to explore Newark along the way to your next caffeine boost. As the weather gets warmer, the shop provides some outdoor seating so you can have some sunshine along with your iced drink. The inside of the shop will provide an aesthetic background for your next Instagram story to feature your textbooks and notes.

Address: 93 Halsey Street, Newark, NJ 07102

3. method climbing cafe

Even if you are not a rock climber, Method Climbing Café provides a change of scenery for your next study session. This café is on the ground floor of an indoor climbing gym, but still is a spot many students visit for a healthy smoothie or more caffeine while they highlight pages of their textbooks. And if you are looking for a study break away from school, be sure to check their calendar events for chess games and exhibitions of local art.
